Well I’m finally starting to get caught up on my editing
I’ve had so many cute babies in the studio lately including baby Christien at just 7 days old. I had such a great session with this little guy. He was super sleepy and so easy to pose.

This is the very first “Newborn Safety Awareness” week and I think it’s a great way to educate new parents as well as photographers on the safety of newborn photography. In 2009 I attended my first Newborn Photography workshop in Minnesota to learn how to safely pose newborns.
Safety comes first, and it’s extremely important for new photographers to educate themselves when it comes to this type of photography. There are many newborn shots (slings, chin pose, potato sack) that are composites, which is 2 or more images combined into one final image and should not be attempted otherwise.
